Old Testament

 Psalm 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?

Judges 13: 3,5,24

And the Angel of the Lord appear to the woman and said to her, “You shall conceive and bear a son…. Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.” So the woman bore son and called his name Samson; and the child grew, and the Lord blessed him.

Judges 14:5-6

Now to his [Samson’s] surprise, a young lion came roaring against him. And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart…though he had nothing in his hand.

Judges 15:13-14

And they bound him with two new ropes….When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting against him. Then the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him; and the ropes that were on his arms became like flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds broke loose from his hands.

Judges 1616-17

And it came to pass, when she [Delilah] pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death, that he told her his heart and said to her, “No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazarite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”

Psalm 29:4

The voice of the Lord is powerful;
The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

2 Samuel 22: 2-4, 29, 31, 33

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer,
The God of my strength, in Him I will trust,
My shield and the horn of my salvation,
My stronghold and my refuge….
I will call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.
For You are my lamp, O Lord;
The Lord shall enlighten my darkness.
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
God is my strength and power,
And He makes my way perfect.

The New Testament

John 1:1,3-4

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Matthew 7:24-25

“Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”

Matthew 17:20

“I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 4:1-11

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Matthew 6:13

The Heavenly Doctrines

Apocalypse Revealed 200

The Word is from the Lord, about the Lord, and is the Lord.

see White Horse 14

The Lord is the Word because He is the Divine truth; also because the Word is from Him, and treats of Him.

Arcana Coelestia 8281:3

Divine truth possesses almighty power.

Heaven and Hell 137:2

In heaven Divine truth has all power, and apart from it there is no power whatever. By means of it, angels prevail over the hells and over all that oppose them. A thousand enemies there cannot endure a single ray of the light of heaven which is Divine truth.
