"When He, the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth..." (John 16:13).
The New Christian Church is...being established...through revelation of the spiritual sense of the Word and teachings about life after death... (see Coronis Summary).
The doctrines of the New Church are continuous truths laid open by the Lord by means of the Word (see True Christian Religion 508:5).
When the Lord came on earth, He gave people a new understanding of how to live spiritually. These teachings became the books in the New Testament known as the Gospels and Revelation. The Lord also promised to come again as the Spirit of Truth to explain things that people were not yet ready to understand. It is the faith of the New Church that the Lord has come again, in the form of a new revelation that explains the inner, spiritual meaning of the Old and New Testament and teaches about the life after death and much more. In the teachings of the New Church, people find answers to their questions about the nature of God, His care of creation, the purpose of life, etc.
Through this new revelation, called the Writings or the Heavenly Doctrine, the Lord provides rational truths for people to seek out, understand and live. The Nunc Licet Temple (pictured above) is a symbol of the new understanding, made possible by the new revelation. It has crystal walls so that the open Word and the angel inside can be seen clearly. Above the entrance to the temple are the words "Nunc Licet" which mean "It is now permitted." Indeed, now it is permitted to enter with understanding into the mysteries of faith.

PROJECT: The Word Mirrors the Lord (for ages 5-12) (PDF)
This project is based on the teaching that the truths of the Word help us learn about the Lord and see Him in our minds. As children learn a verse from Scripture, let them glue a piece of reflective material such as mylar or foil on one of the "mirrors" around the Lord.
