Old Testament

“[L]ove the Lord your God and…walk always in His ways…"

I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.

“[K]eep all these commandments which I command you to do—to love the Lord your God,
to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him…”

The New Testament

And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles: Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot; Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot who also became a traitor.

Then He called His twelve disciples together and…sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.”

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” Amen.

The Heavenly Doctrines

To be the Lord’s disciple is to be led by Him rather than ourselves.

The Lord’s Church is with all people in the whole world who do what is good according to their religion. They acknowledge one God, are accepted by the Lord and come into heaven.
