"The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it" (Matthew 13:45).

The Lord has told us many things about His kingdom - the kingdom of heaven - in His Word. The New Testament contains many statements and parables about this kingdom, comparing it to a variety of activities - finding treasure, making bread, planting seeds, etc. These stories help us to understand the nature of heaven and to know what we need to do in order to enter into it.

But the kingdom of heaven is not only a future state that we enter when we die. Heaven can be with us even while we are living on this earth if we open our hearts and minds to it's presence. When we receive love and faith from the Lord, heaven can indeed dwell within us.

We invite you to explore the parables associated with the kingdom of heaven and reflect on what they tell us about how to live. For it is our Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom.
