There shall come a Star
out of Jacob
and a Scepter shall rise

This is a beautiful prophecy of the Lord God Jesus Christ's birth into this world. These were the words that told the Wise Men of the East to watch for a wonderful new star that would tell of the Savior's birth.

"...And behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, until it stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary, His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him." (Matthew 2:9-11) |
| Today, as we celebrate the Christmas season, we too can follow the Lord's star and come to worship Him. Our guiding star is the Lord's holy Word. The heavenly truths in the Word can help us come to acknowledge the Lord as the one God of heaven and earth. When we look to the Lord alone and live a life of good, then we are truly worshiping Him. And we can bring Him the precious gifts symbolized by gold, frankincense, and myrrh-love, charity, and obedience. |
